Mari Lopez told followers on her channel, which she ran with niece Liz Johnson, that she became cancer-free just 90 days after stripping animal products from her diet.
Mari Lopez, who was known for blogging alongside her niece, Liz Johnson, as Mari & Liz, died from the disease in December, according to Liz - after it spread to her blood, liver, and lungs.
But now Liz says her aunt, from Houston, Texas, sadly passed away in December, after the disease spread to her blood, liver and lungs.
The blogger says that she believes the cancer returned after her own mum, who was Mari's carer, began feeding her meat and microwaving her food.
According to Cancer.org, when microwave ovens are used according to instructions, there is no evidence that they pose a health risk to people.
And any injuries associated with microwaves are most often burns resulting from contact with steam or hot food.
However, She told Babe: "Mari was living with my mom, my mom started to tell her that she needed to eat meat now.
"My mom would buy her burgers and things like that, and she didn’t want to eat that but after a while she just was just OK with it.
"When you give in too many times, you just end up saying whatever. I feel like that’s what caused the issues. "
She added that her aunt was "very against" the use of microwaves but her mother would use it to cook her food.
Liz said that Mari was telling people in her videos that people needed to follow a vegan lifestyle, whilst at the same time she was "having her own struggle".
She admitted that as her aunt began to deteriorate, she asked her to pull the videos from YouTube but she refused to do that, adding that she believes if Mari had stuck to veganism she wouldn't have died.
She said: "My aunt was inconsistent in her diet and spiritual life.
"She did not continue juicing/raw vegan diet when she got diagnosed again, she chose to do radiation and chemo.
"I never pushed my aunt to do anything or stay away from doctors.
"She chose to do what she did and experienced healing, leading her to share her testimony to help others.
"I have never been against doctors or medical advice.
"I never claimed to heal my aunt's gay lifestyle through juicing.
"My aunt chose to make that change on her own, which had nothing to do with her juicing but everything to do with her faith."
